Chinese Association Of Automation

The Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) is an academic, non-profit and national organization in China that represents and serves the automation community. It is a member of both the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) and the Asia Pacific Confederation of Automatic Control (APCAC). The CAA consists of nine professional committees and four working groups. Its members include universities, research institutes, enterprises and individuals from various automation fields in China. The CAA’s mission is to promote scientific and technological exchanges both within China and internationally, to support the development of China’s automation industry, and to contribute to humanity’s cause of building a harmonious society.

The history of the CAA can be traced back to 1956 when the predecessor organization, the Chinese Society for Measurement and Control, was founded. In 1960, it was renamed as the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering Measurement &Control. In 1978, it became known as the Chinese Association for System Simulation before finally taking on its current name in 2002.

Since its establishment, the CAA has been playing an important role in promoting academic exchanges and technological development in China’s automation field. It regularly hosts international conferences such as APCAC Symposium on Automation (ASA), IFAC Conference on Mechatronics (COM), IFAC Conference on Process Control (PCA), etc., which provide platforms for researchers from around the world to exchange ideas and share their latest findings. Moreover, the CAA publishes two journals – Transactions oftheChineseAssociationofAutomation(English Edition)andJournalofSystemSimulation– which disseminate cutting-edge research results to scholars worldwide.

In recent years, underthe guidanceofthe MinistryofIndustryandInformationTechnologyofthePeople’sRepublicofChina(MIIT),theCAAhasbeenstrivingtocontributetotheMadeinChina2025strategy through initiatives such as organizing technology innovation competitions and establishing Industry 4.0 demonstration zones. These efforts aimto promote deeper integration between industrial automation technologiesand information technologies so as to accelerate China’s transitiontoamoreinnovativeand manufacturing-based economy that is highly efficient, eco-friendlyand globalized
