The European Academy of Bozenbolzano (Eurac) is a leading scientific and technical institution in Europe. It was founded in 2006 by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the Government of Italy with the aim of promoting research and teaching in the fields of science, technology and medicine. Eurac has a strong international reputation and is ranked among the top 100 research institutions in Europe by the EU Research Framework Programme.
Eurac is located in Bozenbolzano, a city in the province of South Tyrol, Italy. The city is home to a large number of universities, research institutes and businesses, making it an ideal location for Eurac. The academy has over 200 members from 30 countries, including some of the world’s leading scientists and researchers.
Eurac’s mission is to promote excellence in research and teaching in science, technology and medicine. The academy offers a range of programmes and services to its members, including funding for research projects, fellowships and scholarships, conference facilities and library resources. Eurac also provides support for young researchers through its Early Career Researchers programme.
The academy has four main divisions: Science; Technology; Medicine; and Social Sciences & Humanities. Each division has a number of sub-divisions which focus on specific areas of research. For example, Science includes divisions on Biology & Biomedical Sciences; Chemistry & Materials Science; Earth Sciences; Physics & Astronomy; Mathematics & Computer Science; Engineering & Applied Sciences; Environmental Sciences; Agriculture & Food Sciences; medical sciences ; Energy ; Space . In addition to these divisions, there are also cross-disciplinary programmes which cover areas such as ethics , law , economics 、 policy 、 education 、 social sciences . These programmes allow Eurac to carry out multidisciplinaryresearch projects which address complex issues from multiple perspectives.
