Loughborough University is a public research university located in the town of Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. The university has an excellent reputation for teaching and research and is consistently ranked among the top 20 universities in the United Kingdom. It was established in 1909 as a technical institute and gained university status in 1966.
The university has seven schools: Arts, Design and Social Sciences; Business and Economics; Education; Engineering and Technology; Humanities; Science; and Social Sciences. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a wide range of disciplines, including business, economics, education, engineering, science, sport science, design and social sciences.
Loughborough University is home to over 16000 students from more than 100 countries worldwide. The campus is situated on 550 acres of land close to the town centre. Facilities include an Olympic-standard swimming pool, sports pitches, a library with over 1 million books , computer laboratories and state-of-the-art teaching facilities.
