Founded in 1885, Michigan Technological University is a public research university located in Houghton, Michigan. The university offers more than 130 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in science and technology.

Michigan Tech is home to the nation’s largest cooperative education program, which provides students with paid work experience related to their field of study. The university also operates the Keweenaw Research Center, a multi-disciplinary research facility focused on natural resources and the environment.

Notable alumni of Michigan Tech include John F Kennedy Jr., astronaut Bruce McCandless II, and Nobel Prize-winning physicist Arthur Compton. The university has an endowment of $280 million and an annual budget of $435 million.
