The University of Luxembourg (UL) is a public research university located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The university was founded in 2003 as part of a restructuring of higher education in the country and currently has over 8,500 students enrolled.
The UL is the only comprehensive research university in Luxembourg and is one of the youngest universities in Europe. It is organized into five faculties: Arts and Humanities, Law, Economics and Finance, Science and Technology, and Social Sciences.
The UL has partnerships with many leading European universities and is a member of the League of European Research Universities (LERU). It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs taught in English or French.
Research at the UL covers a broad spectrum of topics including space technologies, sustainable development, financial engineering, information systems, materials science, pharmacology, nanotechnology, cell biology, cancer research, neuroscience etc. The UL has state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research including an observatory on campus.
