Astronauts from NASA recently did something special. They went to a place close to Washington D.C. and shared their stories about spending time in space! A special vehicle which brought them was very powerful and it’s now entered the books of history. What’s more, NASA is preparing for the return of some amazing items from space – hear about all these interesting events on This Week at NASA!

Three astronauts from NASA – Jessica Watkins, Robert Hines and Kjell Lindgren – had a series of exciting events during the week of March 27th. They were visiting the Washington D.C area to tell people about their mission to space on SpaceX Crew-4. Events included visits to NASA Headquarters and Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library so that students there can learn more about how NASA is sending missions to the Moon with Artemis. This was a big and historic moment for these astronauts.

Next time NASA’s Crawler Transporter 2, also called CT-2, is taking the Artemis Moon rocket and its mobile launcher to the launch pad, it will have something special. Guinness World Records just gave CT-2 a title: “the heaviest self-powered vehicle”. It weighs 6.65 million pounds which is like 1,000 pickup trucks put together!

NASA’s OSIRIS-REx team is getting ready for the spacecraft to come back with sample material it got from asteroid Bennu. It looks like the capsule that holds the sample should touch down in the Utah desert on September 24th. This will be the first time a U.S. mission has brought an asteroid sample back to Earth! The investigation of this could help us get closer to understanding what chemistry leads to life being created.

NASA is planning to launch an awesome mission called Dragonfly in 2027 that will fly all the way to a giant moon of Saturn called Titan! Dragonfly passed its Preliminary Design Review and it’ll be studying the chemistry on Titan, which could help us learn more about how life started here on Earth. That’s what’s happening at NASA this week!

2. Risk Factors for getting severe after catching COVID-19 in China are studied.

3. A study examines how the shape of your eyes changes by having an eye surgery with special equipment.

4. An experiment studies a new tear duct prosthesis and its harmlessness to the body over time.

1. Scientists in Shanghai, China are working to figure out exactly how COVID-19 spreads from one person to another.

2. Researchers in Tanzania studied the DNA of a type of parasite called Schistosoma mansoni using something called polymerase chain reaction on blood samples from adults living there.

3. Scientists in the Democratic Republic of the Congo looked at people who had severe schistosomiasis mansoni (a disease caused by the parasite) and what it does to them.

4. Doctors also tested contact lenses to see if they could correct presbyopia, which affects a person’s ability to see things clearly up close, and restore stereopsis (depth perception).

This passage is talking about two medical topics that experts have agreed upon. The first is ‘Laboratory Diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis Autoantibodies’ and the second is ‘Clinical Use of Selinexor in Hematological System Diseases’. Together, these are the 2022 edition agreements on these important topics.
