The results of the study showed that compared with participants on a standard diet, those on an LCHF diet had significantly higher levels of both LDL cholesterol and apolipoprotein B. These findings indicate that going on an LCHF diet could raise an individual’s risk for cardiovascular events, although additional research is needed to better understand the long-term effects of this type of dietary pattern.
