Biometric Materials
A biometric material is a type of material that can be used to collect and store biometric data. Biometrics is the science of measuring and analyzing biological data. Biometric materials are used in a variety of applications, including security, identification, health care, and forensics.
There are two main types of biometric materials: active and passive. Active biometric materials are those that require power to operate, such as fingerprint scanners and iris scanners. Passive biometric materials do not require power to operate and can be used for tasks such as storing fingerprints on a database or creating 3D models of faces.
The most common type of biometric material is DNA. DNA can be collected from hair, skin cells, blood, saliva, or other bodily fluids. It can be used to identify individuals with a high degree of accuracy and is often used in criminal investigations. Other common biometric materials include fingerprints, iris patterns, hand geometry, voice recognition, and facial recognition.
