Castration

Castration

Castration is a medical procedure in which the testicles are removed. It is typically done as a form of birth control, to prevent pregnancy. However, it can also be done for other reasons, such as to treat certain medical conditions or to reduce sex drive.

There are two main types of castration: surgical and chemical. Surgical castration involves physically removing the testicles from the body. Chemical castration uses medication to lower testosterone levels and prevent sperm production.

Castration is a permanent procedure. Once it is done, it cannot be undone. For this reason, it is important to be sure that you want to go through with the procedure before making any decisions.

If you are considering castration, talk to your doctor about all of your options and what to expect before and after the procedure.
