Clearspace

Clearspace

Clearspace is a new technology developed by Russian scientists that allows for the removal of space debris. The technology uses a powerful laser to vaporize small pieces of space debris, which then dissipate harmlessly into the atmosphere.

The development of Clearspace is a response to the growing problem of space debris. There are currently more than 500,000 pieces of man-made debris orbiting Earth, and that number is growing every year. This debris can pose a serious threat to both manned and unmanned spacecraft, as even a small piece can cause catastrophic damage.

Clearspace is still in the testing phase, but it has already shown promising results. In early tests, the laser was able to vaporize up to 100 pieces of space debris per minute. The team behind Clearspace is hopeful that the technology will one day be used to clean up low Earth orbit and make it safe for future generations of astronauts and cosmonauts.
