Csail (computer science and artificial intelligence laboratory) is a research institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Csail was founded in 2003 by MIT Professor Patrick Winston and former MIT President Charles Vest. The lab is directed by Professor Daniela Rus.
Csail’s research areas include artificial intelligence, robotics, programming languages, systems, and theory. Notable projects at the lab include the development of the Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner, the creation of an autonomous flying car, and work on self-driving cars.
