Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a research university specializing in engineering science & technology located in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The university was founded in 1956 as the Technische Hogeschool Eindhoven (THE), and was later renamed to its current name in 1986. TU/e has been ranked as one of the top technical universities in Europe, and its alumni include 8 Nobel Prize laureates.

TU/e offers bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, industrial design, and applied physics. The university has strong research groups in many areas of cutting-edge technology, including photonics, nanotechnology, energy systems & sustainability, healthcare technology, and high-performance computing & simulation. TU/e is also home to several world-renowned research institutes such as the Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI), Philips Research Laboratories (PRL), imec@TUE”, and DAFT Punk Institute.

Notable alumni of TU/e include Frans van Houten (CEO of Royal Philips), Marcel Brenninkmeijer (co-founder of C&A), Alex Klusmann (co-founder of TomTom), Antoni Witkowski (inventor of the inkjet printer head used in Canon printers), Wubbo Ockels (astronaut), Willemijn van Loon (CEO of NXP Semiconductors).
