Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting is a process of taking an impression of a person’s fingerprints. It can be done using several methods, including ink-based, live scan, and latent print. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Ink-based fingerprinting is the most common type of fingerprinting. It involves rolling each finger in ink and then pressing it onto paper. The advantage of this method is that it is quick and easy to do. The disadvantage is that the ink can smudge, making the prints difficult to read.

Live scan fingerprinting uses an electronic scanner to take an image of the fingerprints. This method is more accurate than ink-based fingerprinting, but it takes longer to do. Latent print fingerprinting is used when there are no visible fingerprints present. This method uses chemicals or powders to reveal hidden fingerprints.
