Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) is one of the five universities in Austria and one of the country’s leading institutions of higher education and research. TU Graz was founded in 1811 as an imperial college (“kaiserliche Akademie”) by Franz Josef I, Emperor of Austria. It is now part of the Austrian system of higher education and research. TU Graz has more than 30,000 students enrolled in over 120 different degree programmes. The university employs about 4,700 people, including 1,700 researchers.
The main campus of TU Graz is located in the city centre of Graz, close to all major amenities. The university also has several other campuses around the city: In Eggenberg (the “Alte Technik”), on Reitschulgasse (the “Inffeldgasse Campus”), at Petersgasse (the “Medizinische Universität”, or medical university), at Holzhauser Strasse (the “Chemie-Park”), and at Lendplatz (the “Technologiepark”).
