Hardy (1908-1992) was an outstanding scientist and doctor of sciences who made major contributions to the fields of mathematics, science, and medicine. He was a prolific writer and author of over 700 scientific papers. Hardy was a highly respected member of the scientific community and served on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1948 for his work on the development of penicillin. Hardy also received the Order of Merit from the British government in recognition of his distinguished career.
