Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center

The Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center located at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The JCCC is one of only 41 such centers in the United States. The mission of the JCCC is to provide leadership in cancer research, education, patient care and community outreach.

The JCCC was founded in 1971 with a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Since then, the JCCC has grown into a world-renowned cancer center with over 200 members from UCLA’s Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health and Nursing. The JCCC offers a wide range of services for cancer patients and their families, including support groups, counseling services and educational resources.

The JCCC is home to many leading researchers who are working to understand the causes of cancer and develop new treatments. Some of the areas of focus include: breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, genomics and personalized medicine, immunology and vaccines, leukemia and lymphoma, neuro-oncology and brain tumors, precision medicine/targeted therapy and radiation oncology.

In addition to its research programs, the JCCC also offers a variety of education and training opportunities for medical professionals and scientists. The goal of these programs is to ensure that tomorrow’s doctors and researchers have the skills they need to make advances in cancer prevention, detection and treatment.
