Lake Vida

Lake Vida

Lake Vida is a large, deep lake in Antarctica. It is one of the most isolated lakes on Earth and has been cut off from the rest of the world for over 2 million years. The lake is covered by a thick layer of ice, which has prevented it from freezing solid. Lake Vida is hypersaline and has high concentrations of dissolved gases, including methane and carbon dioxide. The lake water is also very alkaline, with a pH of 9.6.
