The Middle East is a region of Asia that includes the countries of Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Yemen. The region has a long and complex history with many different cultures and religions.
The climate in the Middle East is mostly hot and dry. The average temperature in summer is over 30°C (86°F), while in winter it can be below freezing. There is little rainfall throughout the year.
The land in the Middle East is mostly desert. Some of the world’s largest deserts are found here, such as the Sahara Desert in North Africa and the Arabian Desert in Southwest Asia. There are also some mountain ranges in the region, such as the Zagros Mountains of Iran and the Taurus Mountains of Turkey.
The people of the Middle East are diverse. Arabs make up the majority of the population in most countries. Other groups include Kurds (found mainly in Iraq and Syria), Turks (found mainly in Turkey and Cyprus), Persians (found mainly in Iran), Copts (found mainly in Egypt), Druze (found mainly across Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan), Berbers (found mainly in Morocco and Algeria), Assyrians (found mainly in Iraq) ,and Armenians . Most people speak Arabic or one of its dialects as their first language; other languages spoken include Turkish , Persian , Kurdish , Armenian , Hebrew , Berber languages , Aramaic . English is also widely understood by educated people across much of the region.
There are many different religions practiced throughout the Middle East. Islam is by far the largest religion; Muslims make up around 90% of the total population . Other religious groups include Christians – both Orthodox and Catholic – Jews , Zoroastrians , Baha’is , Druze , Yezidis Alawites Ismailis Alevis Twelvers Ibadi Mandaeans Sabians Circassians Uyghurs Yazidis Kurds Ahl-e Haqq Kawliya Nusayris . sectarianism plays an important role In political life In many countries across The Region with governments And opposition factions vying For power along religious And ethnic lines . This has led To tensions And conflict That have at times Escalated into violence And war .
