Middle Jurassic

Middle Jurassic

The Middle Jurassic is a geological period that lasted from about 174 to 163 million years ago. It was during this time that the supercontinent of Pangaea began to break apart into the modern continents. The climate during the Middle Jurassic was warm and humid, with average temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit). This made it an ideal time for the evolution of many different types of plants and animals.

One of the most important events to occur during the Middle Jurassic was the rise of the dinosaurs. These massive reptiles quickly became the dominant life form on Earth, ruling over the land, air, and sea for more than 150 million years. The first true birds also appeared during this time, as did early mammals such as multituberculates and plesiadapiforms.

TheMiddle Jurassic was a pivotal time in Earth’s history, laying down the foundation for much of what we see today. It truly was a golden age for life on our planet.
