A multi-angle imaging spectroradiometer (MISR) is an instrument used to measure the reflectance of the earth’s surface at multiple angles simultaneously. The MISR instrument aboard the Terra satellite obtains image data in nine spectral bands from six different cameras pointed at the earth at different angles. These images are then processed to produce a three-dimensional view of the earth’s surface, providing information on land cover type, vegetation properties, and aerosmption. The resulting images can be used to study global climate change, monitor agricultural productivity, and track changes in land use.
