The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) is a premier research institute located in Bangalore, India. NCBS is part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), which is one of the leading research institutes in India. NCBS was established in 1989 with the aim of carrying out basic research in biology. The institute has made significant contributions to biological sciences, especially in the areas of developmental biology and neuroscience.
