New Horizons

Space exploration is one of the most fascinating and inspiring fields of human endeavor. It captures our imagination like few other things can, and it has the potential to transform our lives in ways we can only imagine.

The exploration of space is an essential part of our quest to understand the universe and our place in it. It is also a key driver of technological innovation, which benefits us all here on Earth.

The next great era of space exploration is just beginning. NASA’s New Horizons mission will take us farther into the solar system than ever before, revealing new worlds and helping us to unlock the secrets of our cosmic origins.

New Horizons was launched in 2006, and is currently en route to Pluto – a world that was once thought to be little more than a cold, dark rock at the edge of the solar system. But thanks to New Horizons, we now know that Pluto is a complex and fascinating world with mountains, glaciers, and even an atmosphere. And there’s much more yet to be discovered…

After its flyby of Pluto in July 2015, New Horizons will continue on into the vast expanse of interstellar space beyond. What lies out there? We don’t know for sure – but that’s what makes space exploration so exciting!
