New Mexico Skies Observatory

New Mexico Skies Observatory (NMSO) is a state-of-the-art astronomical facility located in the heart of New Mexico’s “astronomy belt”. NMSO is home to some of the world’s largest telescopes, including the 4-meter Discovery Channel Telescope (DCT).

The DCT is equipped with a wide field camera that gives it the ability to capture images of large swaths of sky. The telescope has been used to discover numerous new objects and phenomena, including more than 100 exoplanets. In addition to its cutting-edge research capabilities, NMSO is also dedicated to public outreach and education.

The observatory offers regular tours and events that allow members of the public to experience astronomy firsthand. NMSO’s commitment to sharing the wonders of the cosmos makes it a truly unique asset for both scientists and stargazers alike.
