Nordic Institute For Theoretical Physics (NIFTP) is a research institute located in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was founded in 1986 by Niels Bohr, who served as its first director. The institute is dedicated to fundamental research in physics, with a focus on the interface between particle physics and cosmology.
The institute has a staff of about 60 people, including 30 scientists. The scientific staff is divided into three groups: theoretical particle physics, theoretical astrophysics, and cosmology. In addition to these three groups, the institute also has a group devoted to outreach and education.
NIFTP plays an important role in the international scientific community. It hosts numerous workshops and conferences each year, which bring together leading scientists from around the world to discuss cutting-edge research. The institute also offers visitors programs for both students and teachers.
Research at NIFTP is conducted at the highest level of international excellence. The institute has made important contributions to our understanding of dark matter, inflationary cosmology, quantum field theory, and many other areas of physics.
