Prkca is a serine/threonine-protein kinase and an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PRKCA gene. This protein kinase catalyzes the phosphorylation of proteins. It is involved in calcium signaling, cell proliferation, and tumorigenesis. Mutations in this gene have been associated with several diseases including cardiac arrhythmia, epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s disease.
