The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is a world-renowned centre for education and research in the field of medicine. Founded in 1784, RCSI has been at the forefront of medical education and research for over two centuries. RCSI is a member of Universities Ireland and is ranked within the top 250 institutions worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019. The College also holds full accreditation from AMBA, AACSB, EQUIS and WFMEA.
Rcsi offers undergraduate programmes leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh BAO), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing Studies (BSc [Hons] Nursing Studies). It also offers postgraduate programmes leading to the degrees/diplomas/certificates: Master’s degrees – MCh Orthopaedics, MCh Plastic Surgery, MD Respiratory Medicine; Diplomas – Diploma in Child Health, Diploma in Clinical Dermatology; Certificates – Certificate in Medical Education. In addition to these academic programmes, RCSI provides extensive continuing professional development opportunities for healthcare professionals through its Professional Development Academy.

RCSI currently has over 3,000 full-time and 1,500 part-time students enrolled across its schools: Medicine, Pharmacy & Health Sciences; Nursing & Midwifery; Physiotherapy; Occupational Therapy & Social Work; Business School Dublin; Institute of Leadership . In addition there are almost 2,000 annual international visiting students. The college community comprises over 1,400 staff members including academic teaching staff located across campuses in Dublin city centre as well as our associated hospitals nationwide
