The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) is a world-renowned institution of veterinary medicine and science, based in London, United Kingdom. The RVC offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees in veterinary medicine and science.
The RVC was founded in 1791 as the first veterinary college in England, and it remains at the forefront of veterinary education and research today. The RVC is a member of the University of London, and its main campus is located in Regent’s Park. The College also has campuses in Hawkshead (in the Lake District) and Pirbright (in Surrey).
The RVC offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programmes, including Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVetMed), Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Veterinary Nursing, BSc Animal Biology & Welfare, BSc Bioveterinary Science, BSc Equine Science & Management. In addition to these ‘traditional’ routes into veterinary medicine, the RVC also offers foundation years which provide an alternative route into our undergraduate programmes for students who do not have the traditional academic qualifications or who may wish to gain some experience of studying at university before commencing their degree studies. These include our Foundation Certificate in Biological Sciences or Foundation Year Zero entry onto our five-year BVetMed programme. We also offer Graduate Certificates and Diplomas for those wishing to update their knowledge or skills or change career direction. Our postgraduate taught courses include Master’s degrees such as MRes/MSc Research Methods & Statistics for Biomedical Scientists; MSc Animal Welfare Ethics & Law; MSc Epidemiology; MBA International Agri-Food Business; MA Education (Post-Compulsory Education & Training). We also offer Doctorates by research across a broad spectrum of topics relevant to both clinical practice and basic sciences within vet med/veterinary sciences.
