Sea

Sea, also known as ocean, is a large body of water that covers more than 70% of the Earth’s surface. The sea is divided into four main oceans: the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the Arctic Ocean. The sea supports a huge variety of life and provides many benefits to humans.

The sea has a long history and has been an important part of human culture since ancient times. The first evidence of human activity in the seas dates back to around 10,000 BC when people started fishing and gathering shellfish. By around 3000 BC, people were living in coastal settlements and trading with other cultures by sea. Around this time, sailing ships were developed which allowed for longer voyages and exploration of new areas.

The sea has always been an important source of food for humans. It is estimated that over 3 billion people rely on fish as their primary source of protein. Fish are not only an important food source but also play a key role in global trade and economy. The seafood industry is worth billions of dollars each year and employs millions of people around the world.

The seas are also home to a wealth of minerals and oil reserves which are vital to our economy. In fact, it is estimated that over 90% of all global trade is conducted via shipping routes through the seas. Oil tankers carrying crude oil from the Middle East to Europe and North America travel through some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world including the Strait of Hormuz and Strait Of Gibraltar.

The seas are also popular tourist destinations with millions of people visiting them each year for leisure activities such as swimming, sunbathing, fishing, sailing, diving etc.. Coastal towns and resorts have developed rapidly in recent years to cater for this demand with many jobs being created in these areas
