Silene stenophylla, also known as the narrow-leaved catchfly, is a species of flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae. It is native to Eurasia and North Africa, and has been introduced to Australia and New Zealand. The plant grows to 30–60 cm (12–24 in) tall, with stem leaves that are linear to lanceolate in shape and 2–7 cm (0.8–2.8 in) long. The flowers are white or pink, 5–10 mm (0.20–0.39 in) diameter, with five petals fused at the base into a tube. The fruit is a silique up to 8 cm (3.1 in) long containing numerous small seeds.
The specific epithet stenophylla comes from the Greek words stenos meaning “narrow” and phyllon meaning “leaf”.
