Snake

by Liam O'Connor

A snake is a long, thin reptile with no legs. It moves by stretching its body and then contracting its muscles to push itself forward.

Snakes are found in every continent except Antarctica. They live in a wide variety of habitats, including deserts, forests, wetlands, and mountains. Some snakes are aquatic and live in water.

There are more than 3,000 species of snakes, which is more than any other Reptilia group. Snakes come in all shapes and sizes, from the tinyThread Snake to the massive Anaconda. The majority of snakes are non-venomous; however, some snakes such as the Cobra and Rattlesnake are highly venomous.

Snakes have been around for millions of years and play an important role in many ecosystems. They help control populations of rodents and other small animals that can damage crops or spread disease. Some people keep snakes as pets; however, it is important to remember that they are wild animals and should be treated with caution and respect
