What is Tracking?

Tracking refers to the process of monitoring and recording the movement of an object or person. It can be used for a variety of purposes, such as keeping track of inventory, people, vehicles, or even wildlife. There are many different types of tracking systems available, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

GPS tracking is one of the most popular methods of tracking today. GPS stands for Global Positioning System, and it uses a network of satellites to determine the precise location of a tracker on Earth. This system can be used for both personal and commercial purposes; for example, GPS tracking devices are often used to monitor the movements of employees or fleet vehicles. One advantage of GPS tracking is that it can be done in real-time; however, it does require a clear view of the sky in order to work properly.

Another type of tracking system is RFID (radio frequency identification). This technology uses radio waves to communicate with tags that are attached to objects or people. RFID tags contain information about the object or person they are attached to, which can then be read by an RFID reader. This type of system is often used in security applications, such as access control or asset management. One advantage of RFID over other types of tracking systems is that it does not require a line-of-sight between the tag and reader; however,RFID tags must be within range of the reader in order to be read correctly.
In recent years, there has been an increase in the use of biometric data fortracking purposes. Biometrics refer to physical or behavioral characteristics that can uniquely identify an individual. Common examples include fingerprints, iris patterns, and facial recognition. This typeof data is often collected using special scanners or cameras designedfor this purpose. Biometric data has several advantages over traditional ID methods such as passwords or keycards; for example, it cannot be lostor stolen like these other methods can. However, biometric datacan sometimes be difficult to collect accurately if individuals do not cooperate fully during collection procedures
