United Launch Alliance (ULA) is an American aerospace manufacturer and launch services provider founded in 2006 as a joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed Martin. It is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado. ULA operates a fleet of rockets that are used to launch government and commercial payloads into space, including the Atlas V, Delta IV, and Vulcan rockets.
ULA was formed in 2006 as a 50-50 joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin to provide launch services for the US government. The company has since launched over 200 missions, carrying over 700 payloads into orbit.
ULA’s Atlas V rocket is one of the most versatile and widely used launch vehicles in operation today. The Delta IV has been used to launch military satellites, NASA science probes, and even the Orion Capsule – NASA’s next generation spacecraft for human exploration beyond low Earth orbit.
Vulcan is ULA’s newest rocket, which is currently under development. It will be the most powerful rocket ever built by ULA, with the ability to send payloads weighing up to 50 metric tonsto LEO! The Vulcan will use Blue Origin’s BE-4 engines – which are powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) – making it one of the greenest rockets currently in development.
