The University of Bristol is a world-renowned university located in the city of Bristol, England. The university was founded in 1876 as the University College, Bristol. In 1909, it received its royal charter and became the University of Bristol. The university has been ranked among the top 100 universities in the world by several prestigious ranking organizations. It is a member of the Russell Group, an association of leading research-intensive UK universities.
