The University of Huddersfield is a public research university located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. The university’s history dates back to 1825 when it was founded as a scientific and technical institution. Today, the University of Huddersfield is a leading research institution with over 30,000 students from more than 100 countries. The University of Huddersfield is home to five schools: School of Art, Design and Architecture; School of Computing and Engineering; School of Education; School of Health and Life Sciences; and Business School. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework assessment exercise (), 84% of the university’s submitted research was judged to be “world leading” or “internationally excellent” – ranking it 21st out of 153 institutions assessed .
