The University of Lincoln (informally known as Uni of Linc) is a public research university in the city of Lincoln, England. The university has origins tracing back to 1861, when it was founded as the Hull School of Art. It gained university status in 1992 and was renamed the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside. The main campus is adjacent to Brayford Pool, about 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre.
The university has over 12,000 students enrolled from more than 100 countries. It offers 300 undergraduate courses and 200 postgraduate courses across four faculties: Arts and Social Sciences; Business and Law; Health and Life Sciences; and Science and Engineering. Major areas of research include agriculture, bioscience, computer science, criminology, engineering, history ichthyology), mathematics, psychology, social work and zoology.
