University Of Nantes is a French public university, located in the city of Nantes, in the west of France. Founded in 1460 by Duke Francis II of Brittany, it is one of the oldest universities in continuous operation in the world. It has a strong tradition in science and technology, and its graduates include eight Nobel laureates and seven Fields Medalists.

It is a member of many international organizations such as the European Universities Association (EUA), the International Association of Universities (IAU), Universitas 21 (an international network of leading research-intensive universities), and L’Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). The university also has agreements with over 400 universities around the world for student exchange programs.
