The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is an Australian public research university located in the Sydney suburb of Kensington. UNSW is one of Australia’s leading universities, ranked 3rd in Australia and 38th in the world by the 2019 QS World University Rankings. The university was established in 1949 as a specialist college for engineering and technology and was later joined by other institutions which became part of UNSW. These include the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, School of Art & Design, School of Medicine, and many others.
