The Tyumen State University is a public research university in Tyumen, Russia. It was founded in 1930 and became a national university in 1993. The university has an extensive academic program with over 40 departments and institutes, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in various fields of study. The university is also home to the Tyumen Regional Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Tyumen State University has a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research. Over the years, the university has produced many notable alumni who have made significant contributions to their fields of expertise. Some of the most notable alumni include:
* Sergei Korolev – Soviet rocket engineer and spacecraft designer, considered to be the father of practical astronautics;

* Nikolai Kondratiev – Soviet economist known for his work on long-wave economic cycles;
* Mikhail Lomonosov – polymathic scientist and one of the founders of Russian science;
* Alexei Leonov – first human to walk in space;
* Valery Legasov – nuclear physicist central to solving the Chernobyl disaster;
* Igor Sikorsky – aircraft designer and founder of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.
