Waseda University is a comprehensive research university located in Tokyo, Japan. The university was established in 1882 by Miyaji Iwanari and Yukichi Fukuzawa as the Tokyo School of Political Science and Economics. It is the largest private university in Japan, with over 50,000 students enrolled at its main campus in Shinjuku and other campuses across the country. Waseda University is consistently ranked amongst the top universities in Japan and Asia, and is one of the select group of Japanese universities to be part of the Global 30 project.
