Zhejiang University (abbreviated ZJU or simply Zu) is an elite C9 League university located in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province in China. Founded in 1897, ZJU is one of China’s oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher learning. It is also a member of the Yangtze Delta Universities Alliance (YDUA).
ZJU consists of five campuses: Yuquan, Xixi, Zhijiang, Huajiachi, and West Lake. The university has a strengths in both the sciences and the humanities. It is especially renowned for its programs in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanics, and materials science & engineering. In recent years, ZJU has made great strides in its internationalization efforts and now ranks among the best universities in Asia and the world.
