American College of Cardiology (ACC) is a professional medical society dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Founded in 1949, the ACC has grown from its original membership of over 100 cardiologists to more than 52,000 members today. The organization’s mission is to reduce death and disability due to cardiovascular disease and stroke through education, research, quality care initiatives and advocacy for optimal patient care.

The American College of Cardiology promotes excellence in cardiovascular care by providing educational resources for health professionals; developing clinical practice guidelines; advocating for policies that help patients access appropriate healthcare services; conducting clinical research studies on new treatments; partnering with other organizations in efforts to improve heart health outcomes; publishing journals such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC); fostering collaboration among clinicians who are interested in advancing cardiovascular science and practice around the world; offering certification programs so physicians can demonstrate knowledge in their field; and engaging with government agencies on issues related to public policy affecting cardiovascular medicine.

In addition to its advocacy work at local, state and national levels—including testifying before Congress—the ACC works closely with professional societies around the world including those specializing in echocardiography (ASE), nuclear cardiology (SNMMI), interventional cardiology (SCAI), electrophysiology (HRS) as well as many others. It also collaborates with other leading organizations like AHA/ASA Scientific Statement Writing Groups which develop evidence-based recommendations about heart conditions or treatments that affect patients’ lives every day.

The ACC hosts several annual meetings throughout North America each year where experts present new findings from recent research studies or discuss emerging trends within cardiovascular medicine that may impact patient care decisions down the road. The most prominent meeting takes place annually at Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center during March/April timeframe – it’s known as “ACC Annual Scientific Session” attended by thousands of attendees worldwide representing different areas within cardiac sciences such as researchers, clinicians etc., It offers networking opportunities along with specialty sessions covering topics across multiple topics ranging from basic science advances all way up-to translation into real life applications improving overall cardiac outcomes significantly! Additionally they offer online virtual meetings throughout year too – allowing members easy access if they cannot attend physical events due short notice!

Finally but not least – ACC provides robust data management systems which stores information regarding current standards/trends/guidelines helping providers delivering high quality personalized patient centric care utilizing latest technologies available today – ultimately reaching common goal —improving global cardiac health!
