Utah State University (USU) is located in the western United States in Logan, Utah. It is a public land-grant university and a research institution of the State of Utah. The university offers more than 150 undergraduate majors and over 60 graduate programs to about 28,000 students from all 50 states and over 100 countries. USU has been ranked as one of the top 10 public universities in the Mountain West by U.S. News & World Report for eight consecutive years (2010-2017).
Founded in 1888 as Utah’s Agricultural College, USU focused on agriculture, engineering, and science education for two decades before adding liberal arts and other professional programs to its curriculum. In 1957, it was renamed Utah State University – reflecting its expanded mission – and became one of only four land-grant institutions west of Colorado at that time. Today, with an endowment exceeding $380 million, USU continues to grow as a premier teaching and research university while serving the needs of its students, state, nation, and world.
