Unlock the Secrets of Algae for Faster Skin Regeneration & Wound Healing

A recent study published in a science journal showed that something from the freshwater single-celled green algae Euglena gracilis could help with healing your skin or wound.

Scientists have found cells from the algae where they have tiny parts called “microvesicles”. These microvesicles contain something called β-glucan, which is like a carbohydrate. This thing can help to protect your body and make it easier for you to heal quickly.

Experiments showed that special tiny particles, called “microvesicles” can help grow skin cells, make more collagen and let those cells spread. Scientists tried this technique on a wound healing test, and they got great results. This could be used to create new products for taking care of our skin in the cosmetics world.

This article talks about how the skin and its healing process are affected by a medicine called Etifoxine. Etifoxine is able to make the skin heal faster and regenerate quicker by up-regulating a protein called CELSR2. This research was done in January 2023 by Yuri Ko, Hwira Baek, Jee-Hyun Hwang, Youngseok Kim, Kyung-Min Lim, Junoh Kim and Jin Woong Kim.
