Cnic is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, native to North America. The genus includes two species, Cnicus benedictus and Cnicus silvestris.

Cnicus benedictus, commonly known as blessed thistle or holy thistle, is a herbaceous perennial plant in the daisy family Asteraceae. It is native to Europe and Asia, but has been introduced to North America and Australia. It grows up to 1.2 m tall, with oblong-lanceolate leaves up to 20 cm long. The flowers are yellowish-white, with a diameter of 3–5 cm.

Cnicus silvestris, commonly known as woody knapweed or mountain balm, is a herbaceous perennial plant in the daisy family Asteraceae. It is native to Europe and Asia, but has been introduced to North America and Australia. It grows up to 2 m tall, with lanceolate leaves up to 30 cm long. The flowers are white or pinkish-white, with a diameter of 5–7 cm
