Frontiers

What are frontiers?
Innovation always occurs at the frontier between disciplines. A new technology or a new scientific discovery usually emerges when scientists from different fields work together to solve a problem that cannot be solved by either field alone. This is why interdisciplinary research is so important: it allows us to push the boundaries of knowledge and discover things that would otherwise remain hidden.

The term “frontier” can also refer to the boundary between two different regimes, such as the frontier between the developed world and the developing world. This boundary is often marked by economic, political, or cultural differences. The developed world is typically characterized by higher levels of income, education, and technological development, while the developing world is characterized by lower levels of these things.

There are many challenges that come with living on the frontier. One of the most important is finding ways to bridge the gap between disciplines so that we can continue to innovate and make progress in our understanding of the world around us.
