Geophysics is the study of the physical properties of the Earth and its environment. It includes the study of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and biosphere. Geophysicists use physics to understand how these systems interact with each other.

The field of geophysics has a long history. Early scientists such as Galileo and Newton used physics to explain the motions of objects on Earth. In the 19th century, geophysicists began using electricity and magnetism to study the Earth’s magnetic field. In the 20th century, they developed new techniques to measure Earthquakes and tsunamis. Today, geophysicists are using satellite data and computer modeling to study a wide range of topics, from climate change to plate tectonics.

Geophysics is an important tool for understanding our planet. It helps us find natural resources, predict natural disasters, and understand our changing climate.
