The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) is a top-ranked public research university in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Founded in 1885, it is one of the oldest colleges of technology in the US. It has an urban campus that covers over 400 acres (1.6 km2) in the heart of Atlanta’s Midtown business district and is home to more than 21,000 students from all 50 states and 113 countries. The institute offers degrees in over 50 majors across four Colleges: Engineering, Computing, Business, and Sciences.

Georgia Tech is organized into six Colleges:
* The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts
* The College of Architecture
* The Ernest Scheller Jr. College of Business
* The College of Computing
* The George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering
* And theCollegeof Sciences These colleges contain 34 departments/schools which offer over 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs through 130+ research centers & institutes. In its 2019 rankings, U.S. News & World Report ranked Georgia Tech as tied for 9th place among all public national universities and 38th place among all national universities overall.. Additionally, Georgia Tech placed 1st nationally for undergraduate teaching by Princeton Review and 5th for most innovative school by the same publication; both are based on surveys completed by students attending the institute
