Leptographium Procerum is a species of fungi in the Leptographiaceae family. It is found in North America, Europe, and Asia. The fruit body of this fungus is a long, thin strand that can reach up to 30 cm in length. The surface of the strand is covered with small bumps or warts. The color of the strand ranges from white to pale brown.
The main hosts of this fungus are conifers, such as pine trees. This fungus causes a disease known as “red-ring rot” in these trees. The symptoms of this disease include discoloration and wilting of the needles, and eventually death of the tree. This disease can affect both young and old trees, and can kill a tree within two years if left untreated.
There are several methods that can be used to control this disease. One method is to remove infected trees and burn them. Another method is to apply fungicides to healthy trees in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
