Founded in 1878, Stockholm University is a public university in Stockholm, Sweden. With over 60,000 students and 2,000 researchers at four different campuses, it is one of the largest universities in Scandinavia. The main campus is located on Kungsholmen island in central Stockholm. Other campuses are located in the suburbs of Frescati and Södra Latin.
The university has eight faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences; Law; Medicine; Science; Teacher Education; Business, Economics and Statistics; Psychology; and Technology (engineering sciences). It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in these fields.
Stockholm University has been ranked among the world’s top 100 universities by several international rankings organizations. In particular, it has been ranked as the 53rd best university in Europe by Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020-21. Additionally, it was placed at 96th position globally in the same ranking system.
