Osaka University (大阪大学, Ōsaka daigaku) is a Japanese national university located in Osaka, Japan. The school was founded in 1931 as the sixth national university in Japan. It is the largest public university in the Kansai region of Japan and has ten faculties with a total of around 30,000 students enrolled. In addition to its main campus in Suita, Osaka University also has campuses in Toyonaka and Minoh.
Osaka University is one of Japan’s leading research universities and is known for its strong programs in medicine and biology. The school also has notable programs in engineering, law, literature, and economics. Osaka University is a member of the C9 League, an elite group of nine Japanese universities that receive special government funding for their excellence in research and education.
